Rapid experimentation across various channels and product development paths in order to determine the most effective way to scale and grow a business.

Soft Selling

Activity of trying to sell something to someone by persuading them gently that they want or need it.

CMS

Aka “Content Management System“.
Hosted software you need to build and manage content in a website (ex: WordPress).

Inbound marketing

As opposite to “outbound“.
Business methodology that attracts customers by creating valuable content and experiences tailored to them.

BNI

Aka “Business Network International”. Membership organization for small businesses where members network and get referrals.

AARRR

Aka “Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Referral & Revenue” or “Pirate metrics”. Five important metrics that effectively measure your company’s growth.

Marketing automation

Technology that manages marketing processes and multifunctional campaigns, across multiple channels, automatically (automated messages).

Lead nurturing

Process of developing relationships with prospects at every stage of the sales funnel, and through every step of the buyer’s journey.

ABM

Aka “Account Based Marketing“.
B2B strategy that focuses sales and marketing resources on target accounts within a specific market.

Persona

Fictional character that communicates the primary characteristics of a group of users, identified and selected as a key target.

CQP

Aka “Configure Price Quote“. Sales tool designed to produce accurate and highly configured quotes (business rules centralized and available in real-time).

ERP

Aka “Entreprise Ressource Planning“. Modular & unified software designed to integrate the main functional areas of an organization’s business processes.

CRM

Aka “Customer Relationship Management“. Software for managing, centralizing, storing & tracking relationships with your prospects & customers.

Home automation

Aka “Domotics” or “Smart home”.
System for controlling lighting, climate, entertainment systems, appliances, access control and alarm systems.

Robotic

Branch of technology which deals with robots (which often replicate human or animal, partially or totally). Not always related to AI.

Drone (UAV)

Aka “Unmanned aerial vehicles“. Flying, swimming, walking… robot that can be remotely controlled or go autonomously through software-controlled plans.

FTP

Aka “File Transfer Protocol“. Standard network protocol used for the transfer of computer files between a client and server on a computer network.

VPN

Aka “Virtual Private Network“. Network that is constructed using Internet to connect remote users or regional offices to a company’s private, internal network.

DevOps

Set of practices that automates the processes between software development & IT teams, in order to build, test & release software faster & more reliably.

Product Owner (PO)

Lead user of the system or anyone with a solid understanding of users, the market place, the competition and of future trends for type of system being developed.

Full Stack

Developer who works with both the front & back ends of an IT solution (can handle all the work of databases, servers, systems engineering and clients).

SaaS

Aka “Sofware as a Service“. Software distribution model in which a third-party provider hosts applications.
